Vendetta Rose EP Release Show Review

Every Weekend in Asbury Park is eventful to say the least but this past Saturday, Vendetta Rose truly made it a special occasion when they rocked The Asbury Lanes for their EP release show.  The band signed to Moto Records just released their debut EP Tilted Directions and were supported that night by upcoming acts Dress Code and The Flukes and successfully sold the place out in the process!  Each act was dynamic, high-energy and electrifying to watch on-stage and all three played to the crowd more than effectively. As an opener, Dress Code started off the night with a raw and exciting sound that channeled grunge and alternative but still felt fresh and vibrant. The group were a tight unit on stage and displayed an intense amount of emotion in their performances establishing a strong connection with their audience in the process.

The second openers of the night The Flukes brought a funky and organic sound with highly enjoyable results. The Manasquan band split their set between originals and covers and surprised with unique takes on classics by The Ramones, Beach Boys and The Red Hot Chili Peppers and managed to make them feel like their own. The group displayed a strong chemistry on-stage and each member was highlighted throughout their set. moment was when Bassist Mike Trilli shined in particular during his cover of Elton John’s “Tiny Dancer” which registered strongly with the audience.  The Flukes put on all-out performances  that were exuberant and spontaneous and were true crowd-pleasers.

The main attraction however that night had to be Vendetta Rose themselves. The group taking influence from acts such as Guns and Roses and Metallica were purely exhilarating to watch. Their set was full of spectacle and visceral energy and some truly killer guitar riffs as well!  Each member was in sync but showed off their own style making each of them engaging to watch on-stage. Lead singer Alec Demello’s stage presence full of endless energy and confidence resulting in an accomplished performance that anchored the set.  The band’s sonic range was also noteworthy to behold as their original material contained elements of hair-metal, hardcore and power-rock while working in some tasteful covers too.

For the group’s encore performance they truly dazzled with a hard-edged cover of “Let There Be Rock” and an incredible cover of “Purple Rain” by Prince which was surprising yet more than effectively done. Their entire set the band illustrated their passion, emotion and exuberance and showcased their new EP’s sound with style and flair to spare. On the whole Vendetta Rose have established themselves as a promising act to watch with a dynamic and exciting sound that’s sure to garner many listeners. Something tells me this rose is blooming for sure.
